School Meals
We are very lucky that all of our school-aged children benefit from government funded universal free school meals, and actively encourage our children to make the most of this free daily hot meal. We have an excellent catering team, provided by Nottinghamshire Schools Catering, that follow a set three-week menu, a copy of which is displayed on the external kitchen door and is also available below.
A vegetarian option is always available for children if you have informed the office that your child requires this. If your child’s diet does not suit our caterers menus due to any food allergies or intolerances, religious or ethical beliefs please let us know so we can make alternative arrangements. You will be asked to complete a form to record these requirements. Any allergies and intolerances must be accompanied and supported by medical documentation from the child’s GP or other medical professional.
Children are cared for at lunch times by our dedicated midday supervisory assistants, operating a family service where children are served at the tables. You may provide your child with a packed lunch if you would prefer. However, please note that nuts, of any kind, cannot be brought into school.
Message from Nottingham County Council:
'The school catering service provides over 30,000 school meals every day. A great deal goes into our dinners to make sure they taste good, they’re healthy and most of all that they meet the requirements of our most demanding customers – our pupils!
All our menus meet the Government’s national nutritional requirements and provide children with healthy, freshly cooked dinners. Vegetarian options are available and menus can even be tailored to meet medical dietary requirements.'
