Every term (3 times per year), children are formally assessed to monitor their progress over time.
In Key Stage 1, we use the NTS tests which are standardised tests and support teacher assessment. We also make use of the gap analysis function which we receive as part of our NTS package, using the information this generates to inform our teaching.
Children are assessed regularly within the foundation subjects as part of our practice. We do this through the use of regular informal 'quizzing' using the Leitner system. This approach interrupts the forgetting curve and supports the transfer of knowledge into the long term memory.
